connecting to the server massage

I am trying to play the server but when i click play the "connecting to the server" massage keeps blinking. i know it is somehow related to internet connections. i dont have hamachi but i got 2 connections. 1 is the local area connection and the other one is my providers client. weill i be able to play the server? thanks.
